Next to the Loden World Vandoies another sight attracts the attention. Capriz, this is how the cheese dairy, completely dedicated to the goats and the production of cheese of their milk, is called. The name derives from the word "Capra", which means goat in Latin and Italian language. The goat has for a long time been domestic in South Tyrol. Capriz intends to revitalize the keeping of goats, not only to boost the potential of gastronomy in the province of South Tyrol.
The variety of products is wide and ranges from goat cheese to cheese produced of cow milk, with edible mould or red crust, goat mozzarella, a variety of fresh cheese or particular types of hard cheese. Moreover you can have a close look at the production steps in order to get familiar with the processes of bacteria and cultures, and of course of the cheese-maker, working according to French paragons.
In the shop you can not only choose between various types of cheese, but also delicious wines, bread specialities and other delicacies. Of course you can also taste the cheese on site, e.g. a rustic cheese fondue. Regional origins of products are of utmost importance to Capriz. Otherwise you can simply enjoy a cup of cappuccino on the terrace of the bistro, watching the goats grazing in front. For the children, there is a slide.

More information
The opening hours correspond to those of the museum of the Dairy Adventure World. Guided tours are offered on reservation every day from 9 am to 7 pm for groups of 8 and more persons.
Capriz with its wine-house, museum and shop stays open every day all year round.
The bistro pims, however, stays open from Tuesday to Friday from 11 am to 3 pm and from 6 pm to 9.30 pm, at the weekends from 11 am to 9.30 pm, and offers burgers and Capriz cheese dishes.
