The Dolomites Cycling Marathon is the perfect cycling adventure through stunning mountain scenery. Keen road cyclists are encouraged to enter the 228K SuperGiroDolomiti – are you up for the challenge?
Held on June 09, 2024, the Dolomites Cycling Marathon is a 112k cycling race for body, mind and soul. This classic race has historical roots and has so much to offer in addition to perfect organisation and a sporting challenge. This race gains 1,870 meters of elevation and takes you on a tour through one of the most beautiful natural landscapes in the Alps and is truly an experience for the senses. In its 36th year, the Dolomites Cycling Marathon takes more than 1,000 ambitious competitors through idyllic Alpine villages, along the jagged and rugged mountain peaks of the Lienz Dolomites, accompanied by the aroma of freshly harvested hay and the sounds of traditional music groups that play along the route in honour of the participants – there’s no other cycling race like it! Irrespective of your level of interest or ability as a cyclist – every competitor is encouraged in their participation and then celebrated as a winner at the finishing line in the main square of Lienz.
Now in its tenth year, the SuperGiroDolomiti race offers an extra challenge for those seeking a little more out of their day. This extreme variant of the Dolomites Cycling Marathon will take you off the grid, on spectacular and challenging 228k roads sure to provide thrills and chills for all with a total elevation gain of 5,450 meters! The route circles the Lienz Dolomites as well yet continues south-east into Italy. Three mountain passes are famous amongst cyclists for the demanding terrain, and the SuperGiroDolomiti riders’ climbing ability will be challenged all along the route. The race promises a challenging course, putting the best endurance racers through their paces in the pursuit of the victory.
