MMM Corones

The MMM Corones on Mt Plan de Corones opened in summer 2015 and is the sixth and latest Messner Mountain Museum

The MMM Corones, located on the top of Mt Plan de Corones at 2,275 m a.s.l., is the conclusion of Reinhold Messners mountain museum project and the highest located museum of South Tyrol. The topic of the last of the six museums is about the supreme discipline of alpinism, the big walls. The museum opened in July 2015. The rock and the life of the mountaineers are the central topics of this Messner Mountain Museum.

With unique art collections, pictures and various objects, which Reinhold Messner has treasured in his life, these topics are impressively exemplified. The architectural realisation of the ideas was done by the world-famous architect's office Zaha Hadid. Zaha Hadid (1950 - 2016) ranks among today's best and most innovative architects.
