The South Tyrolean Folklore Museum in Teodone is one of the most beautiful open air museums in Europe. Visitors can explore dozens of characteristic farms of various South Tyrolean valleys and learn a lot about the original tools and equipment farmers used in the past. This ethnographic museum is one of the museums founded by the Province of South Tyrol. At the "Mair am Hof" farm, the core of the museum, visitors can learn a lot about the life of the rural nobility, craft-work and religious traditions.
Moreover, it exhibits a collection of pipes, belts and zithers. The exhibition rooms on the ground floor are also accessible by people with disabilities. In the open area of the South Tyrolean Folklore Museum visitors can explore the inside of several farm houses and factories, get a very interesting insight into the farmers' everyday life and learn a lot about the different types of farms and farm houses in South Tyrol.
Very often children tend to be bored when visiting a museum. This is definitely not going to be the case in Teodone, where they can spend a very exciting day outside, have fun at the different play points located in the museum, meet farm animals and watch farmers' activities such as bread baking, hoeing and sheep shearing.
