Thanks to a wide range of leisure activities and its unequalled nature, the Val Pusteria is a renowned holiday destination. The valley is delimited by the Alpine Divide in the north and the Dolomites in the south. The most important protected areas are the Vedrette di Ries-Aurina, Sesto Dolomites and Fanes-Sennes-Braies nature parks, as well as the Alti Tauri national park with their impressive flora and fauna.
