Parallel to the Val di Fundres valley in the Val Pusteria, a bit further west, the Val di Valles valley with the main village of Valles is located. There, amidst the Fundres Mountains, the Cima di Valmala (Wurmaulspitze or Engspitz in German) is situated. In Valles also the mountain hike up to the Cima di Valmala starts, which proceeds to the Fane Alpine village and via the Rif. Bressanone mountain hut to the summit (about 7 hours). On the top you can enjoy a beautiful view on the neighbouring peaks of the Gran Pilastro, Hochferner and Punta Bianca in the Zillertal Alps right up to the Dolomites.
The Cima di Valmala is already mentioned around 1600. It is green and vegetated until 2,900 m a.s.l. and famous among alpinists both in summer and winter, when you can discover it within a ski tour.
