The Cascate di Riva in Campo di Tures are an insider tip for hot summer days
The Riva waterfalls in Campo Tures bear the name of the Riva river, which plunges down the rock faces and gorges in the close vicinity to the locality. These waterfalls are a particularly impressive natural monument. The river rises above Riva di Tures and runs through the homonymous valley as well as across the so-called Tobel gorge, where also the Riva waterfalls can be found. Near Campo Tures, this river empties into the Aurina river, a little more tamed.
The famous Riva waterfalls can be found in the village of Winkel, the upper and the waterfall in the middle are about 50 m high, while the lower is 10 m high. This natural monument can be reached either from Winkel or from Tobel. Along this trail there are Stations of the Cross dedicated to Saint Francis.
