An extensive but easy hike proceeds from the Taurerwirt tavern through the Daberklamm gorge to the Kalser Tauernhaus in the Dorfertal valley and further to the magic Dorfersee lake straight at the Alpine divide

The access to the path no. 711 is located near the Taurerwirt tavern at Burg in the municipality of Kals am Grossglockner. The wide gravelled path first proceeds through a gorge, the Daberklamm. The path becomes a narrow trail and proceeds along the steep cliff (Daberklamm Weg path) from where we can experience the impressive gorge and the roaring sparkling Kalserbach brook (a headgear is recommended). At the end of the wild gorge, the landscape totally changes: a wide, gentle Alpine valley opens up in front of us.
Past some alpine pastures, Moaeben, Schöneben, Rumesoi-Eben, and the Bergeralm mountain hut we always walk slightly uphill until our first stage, the Kalser Tauernhaus. A nice rest point with a fantastic view on the Grossglockner. Ambitious hikers can extend the walking tour to a very beautiful destination, the Dorfersee lake. It is located at about 1,950 m a.s.l. in the heart of the High Tauern National Park. The descent is done along the same route.
