This nice autumnal walk along the slope of Chienes leads us to the San Martino Church on the high plateau of the Strada del Sole in Val Pusteria

Starting in the village centre of Chienes we follow the signpost no. 7A. We climb a hill first on an asphalt road and then along a forest path. We pass past farms and walk through meadows before we continue our hike in the forest, where we find the signpost to the village of Corti / Hofern (no. 6). The path proceeds past the Dickenhof farm and leads us to the hamlets of Corti and Moos on the Strada del Sole of Val Pusteria.
After about 10 minutes of walking time we arrive to the San Martino Church, which is located near a cluster of houses on a stunning meadow clearing that is particularly appreciated by people wanting to enjoy the sun in autumn. Our way back to Chienes proceeds along the paths no. 7A and 6.
Please note: this hike can be undertaken in spring, autumn or on not too hot summer days.
