This nice autumnal walk at the slope of Chienes leads us to the San Martino Church on the high plateau of the Val Pusteria Sun Road
Image gallery: Hike from Chienes to San Martino at Corti
Starting in the village centre of Chienes we follow the signpost 7A. It leads us up the hillside, first along the asphalt road and then along a forest path. We pass farms and walk through meadows before we reach again the forest, where we find the signpost to the village of Corti / Hofern (no. 6). The path proceeds past the Dickenhof farm and leads us to the hamlets of Corti and Moos at the Val Pusteria Sun Road.
From there it takes us another 10 minutes to the San Martino Church, which is located near a cluster of houses on a meadow clearing, a placid spot and ideal to catch some sun now in late autumn. Our way back to Chienes proceeds along the paths no. 7A and 6.
Please note: this hike can be recommended also in spring and on not too hot summer days.
