The Val Pusteria valley offers two bathing lakes embedded in the beautiful natural landscape of South and East Tyrol
In South and East Tyrol there are two bathing lakes which are popular destinations in summer. In Issengo near Falzes there is Lake Issengo, one of the last pond biotopes of South Tyrol. From June until September, a water slide, a water fountain and a playground as well as a large lawn for sunbathing are waiting for children and adults.
Also East Tyrol disposes of a bathing lake: it is the well-known Lake Tristach, located near the eponymous village. Due to its gorgeous position at the feet of the Lienz Dolomites, it is not only interesting for bathing but also for the various walking paths running around and near the lake. The lido at Lake Tristach is open in summer.
Other popular lakes in the Val Pusteria, such as Lake Braies or Lake Landro in the Val di Landro, have a natural beach too. But due to their altitude, the water is too cold for bathing. Other lakes, like the Neualpl Lakes or Lake Laserz, true natural treasures in the mountains, are fantastic hiking destinations.
