Ski tour to Mt Cima Dodici

The relatively easy ski tour to Mt Cima Dodici at Longiarù provides a winterly insight into the Puez-Odle Nature Park

Starting point of our ski tour is the hamlet of Longiarù, that belongs to the village of San Martino in Badia. We start our walk at a wooden bridge towards Juwel. Already the way up is impressive, as you pass by the well-known Viles settlements. We follow the summer path n° 9 in southern direction across the forest and follow the signposts "Zwischenkofel-Antersasc-Puez", leading us across the valley.

We continuously approach the impressive rock faces of the Puez Group, shortly before the Antersasc mountain hut (2,085 m a.s.l.) we turn off to the right and walk in northern direction, across elevations and hollows and soon reach the first saddle. Without difficulties and rather flat, we reach the highest point of Mt Cima Dodici (2,384 m) with its summit cross.

Mt Sasso Putia and the Puez peaks seem within our reach. Also the view to the Sasso Croce Group is highly impressive from this place. We ski down along the route we came. A tip for summit collectors: ski down to the Antersasc mountain hut, put on your skins again and climb Mt Cima Antersasc (2,471 m). One tour, two summits!

Please note: relatively easy tour, also for beginners. Slopes of medium gradient, no alpine or technical difficulties.
