It is a good choice to pass one's holidays not far from Plan de Corones in the Val Pusteria, as this a real paradise for all those who love winter sports. By the way, it is also the largest skiing region in this region. Plan de Corones includes the localities of Brunico, S. Vigilio di Marebbe, Valdaora, S. Lorenzo di Sebato, Chienes, Falzes, Perca, Rasun in Valle Anterselva, Terento, Monguelfo, Tesido, Anterselva, Valle di Casies, Gais-Villa Ottone as well as San Martino in Badia.
The peak of Plan de Corones is situated at an altitude of 2,275 m a.s.l. and it is accessible by a modern ski lift. Altogether there are 32 ski lifts and 119 km of ski slopes. The hourly carrying capacity of the facilities are about 62,000 persons. The Plan de Corones is accessible from four different localities. You also have the comfortable possibility to travel to Perca by train, directly at the station the gondolas start, taking you to the top of the Plan de Corones.
There are not only slopes for advanced skiers, but also for beginners. Skiing, snowboarding, carving or telemark... everything is possible! An attraction for snowboarders is the snow park with half pipe, where they can try different moves. Moreover this ski region features different modern and efficient snow-making equipment, so that you can also ski on the southern slopes until spring.
Another highlight is the new ski lift "Piculin", the hourly carrying capacity of which is about 2,400 persons. The altitude difference of the corresponding ski slope, which leads you into the village of Piculin (Alta Badia), is about 500 metres on a length of 2 km. So the dream of connecting Alta Badia to Plan de Corones came true! The Plan de Corones is one of the few skiing areas in the Alps that offers 5 black ski runs.
And of course you absolutely don't have to miss après ski! On Plan de Corones, there are lots of possibilities to make a stop for a snack and a drink, or even to dance and celebrate till late night, for example in the "K1" at Riscone near Brunico. This is where you can celebrate your skiing vacations!!!

The times indicated correspond to those of the Plan de Corones Cable Car: It operates with most of the other lift facilities every day from the end of November to the end of April. The Piz de Plaies, Pedaga and Cianross lift facilities open on December 5. During the skiing season, the Korer Lift will operate only on Tuesdays and Saturdays, the Cianross Lift only on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
