This easy winter hiking tour leads through the beautiful snowy landscape of the Valle dei Dossi near Riva di Tures

Driving to Riva di Tures, we cross the village until we reach the Valle dei Dossi parking space, where we leave our car. From here, we start our hiking tour through the Valle dei Dossi to the Dossi mountain pasture (Malga dei Dossi), crossing the beautiful Vedrette di Ries-Aurina Nature Park. Despite the cold temperatures the small Rio Dossi is not frozen yet and its roaring accompanies us on most of our way.
A broad forest road leads us gently upwards until we soon reach a small plateau and continue our hiking tour enjoying breathtaking views of the surrounding snow-capped mountain peaks. From here, we hike upwards to the Malga dei Dossi at 1,922 m a.s.l., where we enjoy a hot cup of coffee. The Dossi mountain hut is open also during the winter months. We decide to rent a toboggan instead of going back by foot!
