Situated on a sunny slope above Terento, the Malga Pertinger mountain hut is the destination of a short winter hike with less than 300 metres of altitude difference and the possibility of a descent by sledge

The Malga Pertinger Alm above Terento on the Val Pusteria Sun Road offers a leisurely winter hike. We drive up the Schneeberg road to the car park above the Nunewieser farms. The hiking route follows the forest road to the Pertinger Mountain Hut. It takes a good hour along the levelled winter path up to the alpine hut, whose alpine inn is open at weekends. At 1,870 m a.s.l., the view on the surrounding area opens up - from Maranza in the west to the Dolomites and the Carnic Ridge on the east side.
If you are hiking with snowshoes or touring skis, you can continue to ascend through the snow across the Upper Pertinger mountain pasture, e.g. towards the Hühnerspiel summit (2,064 m) and Al Giogo (Terner Jöchl), and turn the short hike into a sporty tour. Those who have taken the sledge with them can enjoy the 2.6 km long descent at the end.
