Between the woods around Lutago and the mountain station of the Speikboden Cable car, one of the most beautiful sledge runs of South Tyrol can be found
Image gallery: Winter path and Speikboden sledge run
One of the longest sledge runs of South Tyrol is located in the Valle Aurina valley and guarantees plenty of winter fun! At the Speikboden area, famous for its ski slopes, you can enjoy an impressive view on the valley until the Klockerkarkopf mountain in the Zillertal Alps. Thanks to the Speikboden Cable Car there is also the possibility to save the ascent on foot.
Starting at the church of Lutago we walk along the sledge run up to the Schöllberg Alm mountain hut (Hochwald forest road, partly coming together with path no. 18 and 19). The route is well-signposted (Speikboden) and easy to find.
