Winter hike at the sunny slope of Villgraten, leading from the village centre to the farms and offering a wonderful view on the Marchkinkele and the Corno Fana di Dobbiaco mountains

Due to its quiet and isolated position, the natural Villgratental valley is a well-known destination among snowshoe hikers - but it is also a beautiful place for winter hikes on the valley floor. Our walk starts in the village centre of Innervillgraten, in the Gasse road, and leads over the Rio Einat uphill to the bend where the Berger Kirchweg path branches off on the left. The narrow trail proceeds at the slope to the farms of Hochberg. At the Gasserhöfe farmsteads it meets the asphalt road which we follow towards west.
Arrived at the top of the hill, we enjoy the view on the snow-covered valley and the peaks of the Deferegg Alps. Finally the Lahnberg Path leads back down into the valley, to the farms of Eggeberg. At this point we follow the valley road along the course of the Rio Villgraten and turn back to our starting point, Innervillgraten.
