San Vito can be reached via Ferrara and Braies di Dentro and is located at 1,351 m a.s.l. With its 70 inhabitants, this little village invites you to make a visit to its church, dating back to the 14th century. Worth mentioning is also the mountain cemetery with the monument of the Dolomite pioneer Viktor Wold von Glanvell.
San Vito is located on the road to the Lago di Braies, one of the most beautiful mountain lakes of South Tyrol and a precious natural jewel. Located at 1,494 m, it is a great place for a tour round the lakeside. Lake Braies is also the starting point for the Dolomite High Path n°1. Also the popular mountain hike on the Croda del Becco starts at the lakeside.
In winter San Vito is not too sun-drenched, for this reason we recommend you pleasant hikes in higher realms, that is to say to the Moserhof farm. Also several ski tours start in this area. To those who prefer, however, cross-country skiing, we highly recommend the Prato Piazza.
