Those who drive from Rio di Pusteria to the Rodengo alpine pasture pass the village of San Benedetto, which is characterised by beautiful protected farmhouses. In the village centre of San Benedetto the little church dedicated to Saint Benedict is located, it dates back to the 15th century and was rebuilt in the 17th century.
Due to its position, San Benedetto is well-suited for hikes and mountain bike trips to the Rodengo alpine pasture or into the Val Pusteria valley. Near Rio di Pusteria there is a connection to the Pusterbike cycle route and the South Tyrolean cycle path network, on the opposite side the Gitschberg-Jochtal hiking and skiing area is located and the main village of Rodengo, Villa, is easily accessible on foot (about 1 km).
