Marebbe is located at the edge of the Fanes-Sennes-Braies nature park and offers excursion destinations in the heart of nature
The municipality of Marebbe has got some 2,900 inhabitants, about 95% of which are of Ladin mother-tongue, and stretches in a tributary valley of the Val Badia. Concerning the surface area, Marebbe is the largest of the five municipalities of the Val Badia and comprises the localities Pieve di Marebbe, Pederoa, San Vigilio di Marebbe, Val di Tamores, Rina and Longega. Located at the edge of the Fanes-Sennes-Braies nature park, it provides space for outdoor activities in every season. No matter if you prefer walking to the Fanes or Sennes mountain huts or biking along the famous circuit of Fanes-Sennes on your mountain bike, whether you try tobogganing in winter, there is really something for ever taste.
Marebbe comprises a wide surface stretching from 952 to 3,064 m a.s.l. and provides breathtaking views on the unforgettable Dolomites. By the way, the visitors' centre of San Vigilio provides interesting information on the flora and fauna of the nature park.
The idyllic mountain municipality in northern Val Badia also offers connection to the Plan de Corones skiing area. On the slopes of Plan de Corones you might come across the Moelgg siblings, exercising for the World Cup in Alpine skiing, as they come from this municipality in Val Badia. Off the slopes there are numerous ski touring mountains such as the Cima delle Nove and Col Becchei. And after an exhausting tour on the mountains, you can look forward to local specialties such as the "Turtres" or "Gnoch da Zigher".
