Pieve di Marebbe has got some 700 inhabitants and differs from the main village of San Vigilio. It is in fact almost completely dedicated to agriculture and comprises a series of ancient farms as well as a very old centre with church, parish house and school. The parish church of Marebbe, by the way the most ancient church of the valley, is dedicated to the Madonna and is one of the most famous pilgrimage sites dedicated to her.
Located at the western foot of the Plan de Corones, Marebbe is considered to the cradle of Ladin culture. Marebbe is a treasure for all those who seek relaxation outdoors. Locally manufactured products such as bacon, honey and cheese can of course also be purchased.
Pieve di Marebbe is a real gem located away from mass tourism. If you seek relaxation in nature, away from the main centres, this is the place you should choose for your stay in Val Badia.
