Anterselva di Sopra is located at 1,550 m and is a scattered settlement, composed of a series of farms. Nevertheless for those who love active holidays and those who love nature, it is the real gem of the valley, as the village provides a series of possibilities regarding leisure time activities.

The main attraction of the valley is undoubtedly the deep green Lago d'Anterselva, which can be surrounded on foot on a nature educational trail in about one hour. Due to its elevated altitude, even in high summer it provides refreshing moments at its shore. From the lake you can also start several hikes and mountain tours, such as on the Forcella Riepa and the Malga Steinzger. Starting from the village, however, the walk to the Rif. Vedrette di Ries starts, which is really worth it. If you drive from the village towards the head of the valley, you reach the Passo Stalle, rather popular with mountain bikers and bikers. This is also where the famous mountain bike circuit Giro delle Vedrette di Ries-Aurina passes by. By the way, the Passo Stalle is also starting point for the walk to the Croda Rossa. In winter, the mountain road to Passo Stalle is closed and is transformed into a toboggan run and a cross-country ski trail, that can also be found on and round Lake Anterselva.

Ski touring is as popular as cross-country skiing and biathlon, as Anterselva di Sopra is the seat of the biathlon centre Südtirol Arena, a facility that has been venue for World Cups and World Championships. Also for fun biathlons this stadium is very popular. Certainly, you will always enjoy the look on the mighty Vedrette di Ries-Aurina mountains, which are the ideal photo motif the whole year round.
