From an archaeological viewpoint, San Lorenzo di Sebato is the most significant place of the Val Pusteria, as in 1857 a Romanesque milestone was excavated, which was handed over to the Ferdinandeum, while a duplicate milestone can be admired at the place of discovery. In fact, San Lorenzo used to be the centre of the Roman administration area Sebatum. Also remnants of residences and storages have been excavated in the municipality. A further attraction is the Sares pilgrimage church.
The cycling trail of the Val Pusteria is ideal for a cycling trip, the Val Pusteria train, however, perfect for a getaway and a journey across the green valley. In winter a ski bus runs between San Lorenzo and the Plan de Corones. What more could one desire?
