Santo Stefano is located a little higher that the other localities belonging to San Lorenzo. It stretches at 961 m and it has got about 250 inhabitants. Only some time ago Santo Stefano used to be a rather rural village, while today it is well-equipped, offering a great number of touristic facilities.
In the heart of the village, there is the Gothic S. Stefano and Vitus church dating back to the year 1237. In a wide, treeless area above Santo Stefano, there is one single farmstead, belonging to the municipality of San Lorenzo di Sebato, that is located on the northern slope of the Plan de Corones. It is called “Haidenberg“ and is open in summer and winter, representing a popular excursion destination. In winter there is also a toboggan run that connects the farm with Santo Stefano, sledges can be rented.
Only a stone’s throw away, there are several sports facilities such as a horse riding stable and the outdoor and indoor pool Cron4, located in the sports zone of Reiperting.
Our tip: in the sports zone of Riscone, there is a little zoo with a series of animals, you kids will love this place.
