The natural village of Longiarù is located at 1,398 m a.s.l. and is a traditional mountain village. As "Campil", it was first mentioned in 1312.
Campill is located in the Puez-Odle Nature Park and, as a part of the Alpine Association's Mountaineering Villages, it is a gem for vacationists seeking tranquillity off the main tourist strongholds. Those who like active holidays find gorgeous hiking terrain, one of the most mighty peaks is the local mountain of San Martino. Also worth an excursion is the Passo delle Erbe, which can be reached via a narrow mountain road that is popular with motorcyclists.
The lushly green meadows, fields and forests underline the genuine character of Longiarù. Another characteristic are the so-called “Viles“, little settlements that are among the most ancient of this area. Experience these settlements in an excursion across the Valle dei Molini, a valley that seems a huge outdoor museum.
Our tip: if you love climbing mountains, we recommend you a sunrise tour to the 2,875 m high Sasso Putia. Enjoy the first sun-rays of the day on one of the most striking Dolomite peaks.
