Sorafurcia is located at 1,344 m a.s.l., has got 400 inhabitants and stretches on the slope of the Plan de Corones as only locality. Its church is consecrated to the S. Wolfgang.
In Sorafurcia, the lift facilities of the Plan de Corones skiing and hiking area starts right at the doorstep. The lower terminus of the Plan de Corones is located underneath, in the locality of Gassl.
In summer Sorafurcia, at the east slope of the Plan de Corones, offers ideal terrain for those who love hiking. From Sorafurcia you can for example reach the Rif. Sorafurcia (2,102 m). By mountain bike for example you can cycle to the famous Passo Furcia (1,760 m), that has often attracted the cycling race of the Giro d'Italia. Also worth an excursion are the springs of Bad Bergfall, which can be reached on the hiking trail n°14. The sulfide springs of Bad Bergfall has already been discovered in Roman times and still provides pure bathing pleasure.
Our tip: from the Passo Furcia you can make great walks, such as to the Piz da Peres or the Lake Colli Alti.
