Caminata is located at 850 m a.s.l. and has got about 260 inhabitants. It is considered a little idyllic oasis for those who seek relaxation, as well as a good starting point for rafting tours in the Aurina river as well as walks and hikes in the surroundings. Particularly popular is the contemplative path „Franziskusweg“ stretching slightly outside the village. This trail takes us past the famous Riva waterfalls and ends at the Franz and Klara chapel. It snakes across one of the most beautiful natural landscapes of Valle Aurina.
